Find Ways to Redirect Your Thoughts
It’s always good to create mental health awareness. Often we get drained in the many thoughts that life brings. Sometimes those thoughts can get overwhelming, and we need help in making sure we are processing life correctly. It’s good to ask for help. It’s good to get in the habit of when its time to work on redirecting our thoughts to be more life giving.
Ideas for Redirecting Your Thoughts
- Have someone you trust speak reality into your situation
- Create a calming environment
- Find one way to reduce the stress in your life
- Acknowledge the moment but do not let that moment define you
- Seek help (friend, family member, counselor, doctor, etc.)
- Recognize you don’t have to have the perfect words to describe what is happening
- Find something that is fun to do (ex: lifegiving hobbies;)
- Help someone in need by making their day better
- Watch something that is funny (Laughter is good medicine)
- Hang out with people who love you
- Go outside and enjoy the great outdoors
- Breath in slowly and breath out slowly repeat for at least 2 minutes
- Put on some fun uplifting music
